Who am I?
Throughout my college course I was always on the creative side of teams such as being creative director on an event management module and team manager of an interactive campaign for a local company Trend Set Décor, I have also pitched a campaign to RTE for the “2fm Toy appeal”.
I was the copywriter in a campaign for Jordan's Centra. As copywriter I designed and produced the promotional material we used in the campaign. While coming up with ideas we had to be sure we were sticking to what the client wanted. I was also heavily involved in the making of the video, such as writing the script, drawing potential ideas and editing.
Outside classes I designed the logo for the Social Media Society as well as other college events such as bake sales. I love working with computers and learning and working with new technology.
I have worked as a promoter for a charity radio station (OPEN fm); I participated in many marketing stunts such as flash mobs and organised and ran events like indoor festivals.
In January I did a one month internship in the agency Owens DDB, while there I was a creative and worked on many live briefs for large brands such as Skoda and Volkswagen. I designed campaigns for all types of media such as print, TV, radio and on line, I saw and learned about all aspects in the creation of the ads. Working in the agency proved to me that the creative side is where I want to be and I am continuing to improve my portfolio, check out another version here at http://be.net/Kaymcgarr.
Recently I completed a one month internship in the creative department at McCannBlue. I worked as a copywriter and worked on live briefs for brands such as L'Oreal, Garnier and Shreddies. I also got to attend many radio shoots as well as working on reception for one afternoon. I also helped with with client services tasks like competitive analyses.
